We have secured planning for this property in Buckinghamshire which turns an uninspiring brick bungalow into a stunning contemporary dwelling. Our team worked closely with our client to develop this fantastic scheme bringing a contemporary twist to the area. By undertaking a deep retrofit, our client will be able to enjoy the benefits of modern technologies and passive principles to reduce the building’s running costs and environmental impact.
Bold additions
Adaptation and extension of an historic property in a Northamptonshire conservation area. We took our clients through the design process to create a beautiful & stand out addition that compliments the existing limestone cottage. Working with a specialist energy consultant, our bold proposals result in a sizable 83% reduction in carbon consumption compared with the existing dwelling.
Creative conservation
Adopting a delicate and sensitive approach to conservation, our proposals seek to replace an existing building located in a conservation area and adjacent to a Grade I listed church. Careful heritage analysis identified features within the existing building we referenced within our proposals. A combination of scale, rhythm, materials and structural details connect the past in a sympathetic & contemporary building.
Clever extras
A series of small brick and timber interventions transformed this home into a bright and generous dwelling. The six metre rear extension includes a large bespoke kitchen-dining area and features full width glazing optimising the relationship between the garden & social space. Timber clad additions provide space for a generous family bathroom and unlock two additional bedrooms in the attic space.
Playful extensions
Drawing on industrial pasts, this playful extension is characterised by exposed structural steelwork and new steel effect windows referencing the past and strengthen the industrial aesthetic. Our design maximises the value of this extension by flooding the space with light, integrating storage wherever possible and creating a highly functional space for family living.
Conceptual conversations
We work closely with our clients to develop concept proposals and imagery for all our projects like this set of internal views for a new home office & yoga studio. Taking our clients brief for a light and airy look and feel we proposed a series of sympathetic and uplifting alterations to transform a dark and damp outbuilding into a warm and inviting retreat.
