NineTen Architects was founded by Jeremy and Alex after spending many successful years in some of the UK’s top multi-disciplinary practices. They have both designed and delivered a range of high profile, award winning projects in the residential, education, commercial and healthcare sectors. The pair have been working together for over 8 years and have built up a wealth of experience through practice and collaboration.

Jeremy Haest

Jeremy Collins-Haest

Ba(Hons) MArchD PGDip ARB

Jeremy graduated from the Oxford School of Architecture where his focus was on regeneration and development within a historic context. He was awarded a Judges Commendation in the prestigious SPAB (Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings) Phillip Webb Award, a national competition for the best regeneration proposal at Masters level.

Prior to establishing NineTen Architects Jeremy worked for 6 years at the major international multi-disciplinary design studio BDP, where he gained valuable experience on a number of high profile projects developing his skills in managing complex proposals, client and stakeholder management and on site delivery.

Within NineTen Architects Jeremy leads the studio’s conservation projects using his knowledge of regeneration and historic contexts to full effect. Jeremy is a member of the SPAB and has undertaken the SPAB’s Flagship Repair of Old Building’s course.

Alexander McDow

Alexander McDow

MEng MArchD ARB RIBA

Alexander graduated with a first class degree from the Oxford School of Architecture, where his focus was particularly on regeneration and sustainable design. He was awarded the RIBA South prize as an outstanding graduate for his Part II thesis project as well as the Sustainable Building: Performance and Design award. Prior to completing his studies in Architecture, Alexander completed his Masters Degree in Architectural Engineering at the University of Leeds with a focus on integrated building design.

Alexander has several years experience working for AJ100 leading practices before establishing Nine Ten Architects. He spent 6 years working at the Award Winning Architectural Practice Hawkins\Brown where he gained a breadth of experience working on projects in the Residential, Education and Healthcare Sectors.

Alexander leads the studios sustainably sector as well as championing the use of low carbon construction technologies such as Cross Laminated Timber and off site manufacturing.
